January 21, 2026 — E4TheFuture today announced the recipients of eight legacy grants, comprising the nonprofit’s final grantmaking as the organization prepares to sunset its operations. A “think, fund, and do” hybrid organization since 2015, E4TheFuture planned a ten-year effort to influence federal, state and local policies while developing clean energy strategies.
Four major restricted grants, designed to further initiatives championed by E4TheFuture, were distributed in 2025. Remaining endowment funds will be distributed in equal parts as unrestricted grants to four additional grantees, three of whom are located in Massachusetts.
David O’Connor, former Massachusetts Commissioner of Energy Resources and E4TheFuture Board Chair said, “Over our ten years we have highlighted and demonstrated the many valuable benefits to be gained by investments in energy efficiency, solar and other clean energy technologies. We are delighted to see our major projects move to new owners and new opportunities.”
